Between August 14 and September 8, 2020, 25 days are counted, including 18 works in the public service in Cameroon. In this space-time, Dr. Corinna Fricke made the marks of her presence in Yaoundé, the political capital of the country. Thus, after presenting her credentials to Lejeune Mbella Mbella, Minister of External Relations, on August 14, 2020, the new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany initiated hearings with Cameroonian personalities. Within the legislative power, Dr. Corinna Fricke met Djibril Cavaye Yeguié, the president of the National Assembly. This is the lower house of the Cameroonian parliament. In terms of protocol, the President of the National Assembly is the third political figure. In the list of hearings, there are those with Laurent Esso, the Minister of Justice but also Joseph Betsi Assomo, the Minister Delegate to the Presidency of the Republic in charge of Defense. If nothing has filtered through these hearings, one can well imagine that the security context in Cameroon, especially in the northern part of the country with the incursions of Boko Haram, was discussed. Added to this fight against terrorism is the instability at the borders with the Central African Republic, a country where Dr. Corinna Fricke also has jurisdiction. We cannot rule out instability in the North West and South West regions, which remains a national concern. In this list of hearings, the services of the embassy in Yaoundé cite the meetings with Marie Thérèse Abena and Pauline Irène Nguené, respectively Minister of Women and the Promotion of the Family and Minister of Social Affairs. Between August 14 and September 9, 2020, Dr. Fricke also met Minister Achille Bassilekin III. He is responsible for running the Department of Small and Medium Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts in Cameroon. In 18 working days of her presence in Cameroon, the new German Ambassador to Cameroon was also with René Emmanuel Sadi, the Minister of Communication, Grégoire Owona, the Minister of Labor and Social Security as well as at Georges Elanga Obam, the Minister of Decentralization and Local Development. One of the most prominent aspects of the relationship between Cameroon and Germany is indeed the environmental aspect. Hearings were held with Pierre Helé, the Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development, but also with Jules Doret Ndongo, the Minister of Forests and Wildlife. The latter curls the agenda of the first 18 days of work with Cameroonian officials. Regarding the environment, the services of the embassy are very discreet about the financing to the tune of 200 million euros, almost 131 billion FCFA devoted to forestry and environment projects bilaterally and multilaterally by the German federal government. The Corinna Fricke era is thus opened in Cameroon. Pierre Nka
