The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife H.E. Jules DORET NDONGO has received in audience a delegation of the German bank group, KFW lead by Mme BIANCA SCHLEGELhead of the portfolio for governance, biodiversity and health in Central Africa, BRUNO SHOEN, Director of the KFW office in Cameroon and five other collaborators. The signing ceremony took place at the conference hall of the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife.
The exchange was mainly on the fifth phase of the Program for the sustainable management of natural resources in the South West Region, PSMNR-SW, which will start in January 2023 and run for 3 years. At the tune of 10million euros, it will be co-financed by the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife and the German government via KFW which equally plays a dual role of preserving natural resources in the 7 parks in the South West region and contributes to the wellbeing of the local population by ensuring they benefit from the said resources.
The PSMNR-SW is in line with the objectives fixed by the National Development Strategy, NDS 30 notably the intensification of actions aimed at ensuring the protection of species of ecosystems representing biodiversity, promote ecotourism in protected areas, secure protected arears and reinforce the fight against poaching.
At the end of the exchange, Minister Jules DORET NDONGO was happy with the results obtained since the inception of the program in 2006.
