The National School of Water and Forests in Mbalmayo served as the venue for the **2025 New Year's greetings ceremony** to the Minister of Forests and Wildlife. Attendees included the Minister's collaborators from the central administration, decentralized services, affiliated organizations, as well as technical and financial partners of the Forests and Wildlife sub-sector.

This ceremony also provided an opportunity for some senior officials to review the past year. In his address, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Forests and Wildlife presented an overview of the actions undertaken throughout **2024**, covering aspects such as the **Computerized Forest Information Management System (SIGIF2)**, personnel management, and the acquisition of furniture and real estate, among others.

Representatives of the **timber industry** and **hunting guides** in Cameroon also assessed forest and wildlife exploitation activities, highlighting both the achievements and the challenges faced in each sub-sector.

In his speech, the Minister commended the dedication and commitment of his staff, which contributed to significant progress in the **sustainable management of forest and wildlife resources**.

He encouraged them to invest even more, with dedication and discipline, to overcome challenges and achieve the set objectives. Following these addresses, all participants took part in the **traditional handshake** with the Minister—a privileged moment of exchange and well-wishing.
