On Tuesday 10 September 2024, at 9 a.m, the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife received a mission from the World Bank in an audience in the conference room of his Ministerial Department.
During the audience, Ms MADHAVI PILLAI, Project Manager and Head of the aforementioned Delegation, outlined the main objective of the meeting, which was the presentation and discussion with MINFOF on a new initiative by this Institution aimed at maintaining sustainable forest economies in the countries of the Congo Basin.
Discussions equally focused on priority projects in Cameroon's forestry and wildlife sub-sector and the contribution that the World Bank could make to the country in the areas of timber processing, private sector development, and forest conservation and creation. In this respect, the World Bank delegation was able to discuss the initiatives taken by MINFOF in the field of traceability of forest exploitation, the establishment and management of protected areas and ecotourism.
At the end of the audience, Minister Jules DORET NDONGO expressed his satisfaction with the fruitful exchanges with the Delegation and expressed the readiness of the State of Cameroon to collaborate with the Institution to achieve its priority objectives.
