The graduation of the 75th batch of students of the National Forestry School of Mbalmayo took place on August 23, 2024 in the school campus. The ceremony was presided over by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Forests and Wildlife, Mr. Joseph NYONGWEN, personal representative of the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife.
In an opening speech, the Mayor of the Mbalmayo council welcomed the guests and conveyed a number of grievances, in particular the request that candidates sit the competitive examinations in Mbalmayo and that engineering courses be included in the school's curriculum.
In a speech delivered by the president of the student's union on behalf of the graduating class, he expressed gratitude to their families, teachers and the authorities for their support throughout their training.
In a keynote address, Mr. Joseph NYONGWEN congratulated the laureatea for their efforts and determination, underlining the importance of their role in the management and conservation of Cameroon's natural resources. He also encouraged them to take up entrepreneurship, innovative and creative sustainable businesses to contribute to the country's economic development.
The high point of the ceremony was the presentation of diplomas to the graduates of three different fields namely senior forestry technicians, forestry technicians and forestry officers.
