On Wednesday August 21, 2024, the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Mr. Jules Doret NDONGO, received in audience Mr. IBRAHIMA Yaye, CPDM section president of the Faro and Deo-3, who led a 10 man delegation of the political party of the said constituency.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss the measures to be taken in the light of the geopolitical and strategic changes taking place around the world, in line with the guidelines laid down by the party's National Chairman and Head of State, His Excellency PAUL BIYA. And on the other hand, to address certain topical issues relating to the party's influence, as well as to solicit from the Head of the Forestry and Wildlife Ministry, grievances and needs essential to the multi-sectoral development of their locality. During the meeting, the section president outlined the problems facing the people of the Faro and Déo-3 sub division, such as deforestation, the lack of financial and technical resources for forest conservation and sustainable management, and MINFOF's involvement in the region's major projects.
In addition, the section president proposed to the Minister the creation of a new botanical garden in Faro and Deo-3 and requested support for the creation of nurseries and a professional training center for eco guards for youths of the locality.
At the end of the audience, MINFOF expressed his satisfaction at the fruitful exchanges with the delegation and reassured them that with the help of his close collaborators, he would assess the feasibility of certain forestry-related activities.
