Under the coordination of the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education (MINJEC), the synchronised ceremony of the hoisting of thr natiinal flag and singing of the national anthem will henceforth be held every Monday at precisely 7.30 am.
The announcement was made on Wednesday 15 May 2024, by the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife to all his staff. At 7.20am, staff of the ministry had already gathered from the 4 ministerial departments hosted in the ministerial building no. 2 led by the different ministers.
At 7.30am, the flag was hoisted to the top of its mast, followed by the national anthem sung with vigour and patriotism by all the staff present, and finally a detailed explanation of the symbolism of the event which seems to be in a decline. Thus, the purpose is to revive the patriotic act. A brief presentation was made on national symbols and emblems, as a reminder of the civic and moral education lessons given in primary and secondary schools (national anthem, official languages, form of state, motto, seal, coat of arms, etc.).
The initiative of hoisting the flag in ministerial departments will henceforth be done regularly with the aim of promoting our civic values and making them a legacy for future generations as together, we preserve our civic rights and duties.
