This Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 9 a.m. sharp, the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife Mr. Jules Doret NDONGO received in audience, the President Director General of the Institute of Research for Development (IRD), Ms. Valérie VERDIER assisted by his delegation in the conference room of the ministerial building No. 2 doors 635.
During this interview, the President thanked the Minister for the welcome he gave them, IRD researchers, despite his very busy schedule. Subsequently, the Minister and his hosts reviewed the cooperation that has always existed between MINFOF and IRD. The discussions focused in particular on the progress of projects between the State of Cameroon and the Institution under the supervision of an MoU.
In his speech, the Minister recalled that Cameroon is home to assets including protected areas and forest reserves which are assets belonging both to the State and to all of humanity and these serve the progress of the the evolution of the country as well as the search for vision, the conservation of national heritage, the improvement of knowledge of drones and the release of maps thanks to the collaboration of IRD and the field school. And in this sense, IRD researchers are permanently welcomed and work with the technical structures of its Ministerial Department with a view to improving the living conditions of populations through an inclusive vision of development.
The audience ended with an exchange of pleasantries between the Minister and the IRD delegation to whom he expressed the interest in continuing this fruitful collaboration with the aim of exploiting new opportunities.
