The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Jules Doret NDONGO, has presided over the inauguration ceremony of the new building hosting the services of the Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife of Dja and Lobo in the South Region.
The Minister was accompanied by his colleague of Decentralisation and Local Development (MINDDEVEL), Mr Georges ELANGA OBAM, as well as various local administrative, political, religious and traditional authorities.
In his speech, the Minister urged the local staff of MINFOF and the people of Sangmelima to contribute more to the sustainable management of forests and wildlife, while avoiding being accomplices to illegal activities, and to take up the challenge of conserving the prestigious architectural jewel that the town of Sangmelima has just benefited from.
It should be recalled that this ceremony is part of a vast program of renovation and construction of new infrastructure, aimed at significantly improving the working environment and conditions of the staff of the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife. Having equipped the regional capitals with modern public buildings, the focus has now shifted to divisional delegations.
