The minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Mr Jules Doret NDONGO, and the Secretary of State, Mme KOULSOUMI ALHADJI épse BOUKAR have received new year wishes feom staff of that ministry in a solemn ceremony at the Yaoundé Conference Centre.
Collaborators from all 10 regional delegations as well as the central services, from the highest to the lowest rank as well as guests took part in the traditional hand shake ceremony.
Representatives of both the forestry and wildlife sub sectors succinctly presented the key activities of their respective sub-sectors over the past year. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife, Joseph Nyongwen in a round up address gave a detailed presentation of the performance and counter-performance of the various programs that make up the ministry, not forgetting the difficulties encountered by some collaborators in the discharge of their duties. He ended by chatting the way forward for the year 2024 and beyond.
The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife took the floor to welcome all the participants, paid tribute to the staff who died in the course of the year 2023 while carrying out their duties. He said that he was following with great attention and interest the results for 2023 and the grievances expressed. He equally acknowledged that activities had been impacted by a difficult international context, which had contributed to a reduction in available resource, but said he was nevertheless satisfied with the results obtained in general in the execution of programs and roadmaps, thanks to resilience, self-sacrifice, hard work and determination.
The ceremony ended with festivities to mark the end of the tradition.
